Celena Du NordI have always been fascinated by jewellery, whether on someone’s body, in a store or at the movies. I do not know what attracted me most, the shining silver or the colourful stones. What I know is that as soon as I could gather materials to work with, I started exploring jewellery making. I worked with coloured string, fimo paste, beads, and then progressively moved on to wire wrapping techniques and more complex beading.

That satisfied me for a couple of years, but I still felt something was missing. I could not produce everything I had in mind. When I moved to Puerto Escondido, Mexico, I was lucky enough to meet a very talented man who taught me how to make fusion glass. Using recycled glass, I was able to shape and color it to create works of art. I learned quickly and was able to make beautiful glass pieces, but I did not yet have the skills to set them in silver.

I ended up travelling to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, to acquire those skills, thanks to an amazing teacher. I learned various techniques, starting with basics such as soldering and forging, and then on to reticulation and mokume gane. Above all, I developed the skills that would allow my hands to give life to the shapes and colours my imagination is seeing!

ANELEC creations is the result. A blend of acquired abilities and the idea of creating unique pieces of jewellery, intended to decorate and attract attention to the body.
